Fish4Flies is running as normal, with the exception of delivery issues to Ireland as stated below.
Service Status to Ireland - 1st September - Ongoing
Fish4Flies is currently experiencing transit delays to Ireland. This is caused by significant delays at Customs due to political issues regarding Brexit and the Irish boarder. At present the Irish Customs are overwhelmed with the number of packages flowing through, and we have seen delays between 1-2 months before packages arrive.
What are we doing?
We have been upgrading all Irish orders to a courier service, free of any additional charge, for orders of €25 and above. While the courier service is taking longer than expected, it is taking a more reasonable 2 weeks to arrive.
Orders under €25 will be contacted to see if they would like to upgrade to courier service for an additional €3.55, otherwise we will send out using standard post, and we will not be able to resend until 2 months after the first dispatch. Please also note that if we cannot contact you via phone and email after 3 days, we will automatically send out via standard mail to avoid further delay.
Customs situation to Europe
Officially there should be customs applied to all orders arriving in Europe; however we have had reports from our Irish customers that some of these charges have been waivered due to the amount of pressure the Irish customs are under at the moment.
We don't believe our European neighbours should pay the additional price for the UK leaving the EU, therefore we are looking at applying a discount to counteract the customs charges to Europe; however unfortunately we will be discontinuing any club discounts for European fishing clubs, as we can no longer afford to sustain this service in parallel. This should come into effect early 2022.
