About the UV Orange Buzzer Trout Fly
The UV Orange Buzzer is an exciting stillwater buzzer pattern that can be utterly irresistible at times, especially when trout are feeding on chironomid pupae but seem reluctant to commit to more subtle imitations.
This pattern combines two proven attention-grabbers; a bright orange hotspot at the thorax and a blue holographic/UV flash body that throws off a subtle, fishy glint as it drifts and hangs in the surface film.
That blue flash isn’t just for show, it creates a shifting sheen as the fly moves, helping trout pick it out at range in changing light, ripple, or slightly coloured water. Finished in the epoxy buzzer style for a slim, realistic profile, it offer a little extra “spark” that can stimulate more decisive takes, while the orange hotspot provides a bold trigger point that stands out in the surface film and upper layers.
Fishing Tips:
- Fish it on a floating line with a long leader and let it drift and hang many buzzer takes come when the fly is barely moving.
- Add a slow figure-of-eight to keep it creeping naturally.
- If fish are sitting deeper, try an intermediate line, count it down, then retrieve slowly to keep it in the zone.
