About the Hawthorn Popper Trout Fly
The Hawthorn Popper is a variation of the Hawthorn. The addition of a foam popper head creates an attractive morsel that scuttles and pops over the water surface, attracting lots of attention.
The Hawthorn popper represents a big black fly with long, trailing, back legs. The naturals form swarms on the banks of rivers and lakes and are often blown onto the water, much to the delight of hungry trout.
